HPC Competence Centre

SLING hosts the National HPC Competence Centre – EuroCC@SLING, dedicated to promoting the use of supercomputing for research in science, industry, academics and public services, especially by raising users’ level of knowledge and raising awareness of the benefits of using supercomputing technology.

EuroCC@SLING offers the following to all interested users:

  • support in the use of HPC and HDPA technology for different skill levels and application areas,
  • the chance to acquire knowledge at various training events, and
  • help with the use of technology for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Providing user support

We have set up a multi-level support system for existing and future users of supercomputing capacities, which can be accessed at support@sling.si.

We want to involve as much expertise as possible from the Slovenian research communities in the operation of EuroCC@SLING, thereby ensuring a high level of support in different research areas and a uniform and comparable user experience on all freely accessible systems of the national supercomputing infrastructure and the national EuroHPC system.

Slovenian universities also provide additional support to their users to improve their use of and access to EuroHPC/PRACE resources.

Organising courses, seminars and conferences

We provide a variety of courses and other trainings covering both the basics of HPC literacy and the use of technology in specific application areas.

Via SLING, we are advocating for such skills to be included in the curricula of Slovenian higher education institutions.

Cooperation with the industry

We help small and medium-sized enterprises get started with HPC and apply for tenders. We want to form long-term partnerships with potential users who see significant benefits in using HPC and HDPA.
