Training

The National HPC Competence Centre will provide access to supercomputers and expert advice, while free training in supercomputing, data analytics and artificial intelligence will be available to the general public.

The purpose of the training programme is to fill knowledge gaps in supercomputing at different levels, from basic HPC literacy to topics in technically more complex areas.

The training is targeted at institutions at different levels of the school system, businesses and individuals.

The activities are divided into shorter one-day or multi-day courses to transfer knowledge, and seminars to share up-to-date information in the fields of computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics and HPC literacy.

Courses

Depending on the level of complexity, they are divided into three sections:

  • Basic level: courses focus on HPC literacy and general HPC-oriented topics.
  • Advanced level: courses focus on STEM-related subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The topics involve some in-depth user knowledge and are targeted at the initial application of supercomputing in various fields.
  • Higher level: courses for users who have prior knowledge of supercomputing and wish to deepen their knowledge and acquire professional competences.

Seminars

By organising short courses, we intend to present and open a discussion on current topics in the field of supercomputing. The activities are shorter in duration: an introduction to the field of expertise or topic of interest, followed by an open discussion in the form of a panel discussion. The purpose of the seminars is primarily to share opinions, to build networks and to create a community in the field of supercomputing in Slovenia.
