SLING role

Slovenian national supercomputing network is a model of providing, maintaining and administrating the dispersed computing infrastructure on the national level and enabling its integration in the european supercomputing infrastructure (EGI, PRACE).

SLING could be characterized as an organized activity on the national level that aims to consolidate supercomputing and storage resources, enable resource sharing and extending the infrastructure in a coordinated and uniform way.  It facilitates the researchers to use dispersed resources in a uniform way and it helps resource providers to deliver the next generation research infrastructure to the researchers.

SLING provides technical support to both users and resource providers – it facilitates the computing part of the research, helps research community to make impact and promote science in Slovenia.
